  • 2024 Veteran's Boxing Challenge

    26 October 2024

    RSL is supporting The Veteran's Challenge Tournament. It will be held at the Hellenic Club on Saturday, October 26th, in partnership with the ACT Branch of the Australian Commando Association to support its work with Special Forces veterans and their families. It promises to be a great night out. Tickets are on sale now.

  • Fort to Fort

    Sunday 3 November 2024

    A leisurely walk along the foreshore from Fort Largs to Fort Glanville and back to raise awareness of our defence community, connect the veteran community, and raise funds for charities supporting veterans.

  • Port to Port

    Saturday 9 November 2024

    A leisurely walk from Soldiers Memorial Garden Victor Harbor to Soldiers Memorial Garden Pt Elliot, South Australia. The event raises awareness and funds to support veterans.

  • RSL Remembrance Ride

    November 2024
    The RSL Remembrance Ride provides an opportunity for veterans to challenge themselves in a mentally supportive environment whilst riding a scenic trail.

  • Long Ride 2025

    11 - 18 October 2025

    In 2025, The Long Ride Australia will be riding to Esperance, WA! The Long Ride offers you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to do something epic, meet new people, achieve your goals, explore regional Australia and help raise awareness of prostate cancer.

National Sport and Recreation Programs

  • RSL Active Cyclist and Runners Clubs open to veterans

    RSL Active - Strava Clubs

    RSL Active has created virtual Clubs for Cyclists and Runners/Walkers using the popular Strava App. Join and connect with a like-minded community, share common goals and participate in friendly challenges all while keeping fit!

    The Clubs are open to veterans and their families from all across Australia, so no matter where you are based you can get involved – it is surprisingly motivating!

  • OneWave Fluro Fridays - Surfing

    Fluro Friday’s are conducted at beaches all across Australia. Join a sunrise surfing session, dress up in the brightest outfits possible and share stories and surf to raise awareness of mental health. Everyone is welcome and you don't need to be a great surfer to be involved.

  • Parkrun

    Parkrun delivers weekly 5km events in parks across the country, coordinated entirely by local volunteers. Parkrun is focused on bringing together communities and having fun. It’s a great way for veterans and their families to connect with the wider veteran community each week. Run, walk, or roll – everybody is welcome!

  • Saltwater Veterans - Sailing

    Saltwater Veterans give all current and ex-serving ADF members the opportunity to get together and out on the water for free (or very low cost)! Check out their website for upcoming events taking place in Sydney, Nowra and Adelaide.

  • Trojan's Trek Adventures

    Getting out in the bush can provide the circuit breaker needed to improve mental wellbeing. Trojan’s Trek takes ex-service personnel on wilderness adventures and provides peer to peer support and therapy.

  • ADF Adaptive Sports Program

    The ADF Adaptive Sport Program is a multi-sport program for wounded, injured or ill serving and former serving military personnel and includes both domestic and international events.

Past events

  • Wheels on Waves

    Wheels on Waves is the first fully accessible round-the-world sailing tour. From 2023 to 2025 the purpose-built Italian catamaran Lo Spirito di Stella will sail the world with veterans and wounded, injured or ill Defence personnel of the visiting countries. WOW visited three ports in Australia and invited current and former serving ADF onboard.

  • Australian Drone Nationals

    RSL Active sponsored a team of veterans to participate and compete in the fast-paced and exciting sport of Drone Racing at the Australian Drone Nationals in Townsville.

  • Kirra Longboard Klassic 2024

    RSL Active once again sponsored the Kirra Longboard Klassic, 26-28 July 2024. RSL Australia is the major sponsor of the ADF division, enabling 35 current and former serving ADF to compete free of charge.

  • The Long Ride Australia

    The 2024 Long Ride took place from 26 May to 1 June. Over 300 riders participated in the biennial event, travelling on motorbikes from seven states to Port Douglas. The purpose of the ride was to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Awareness Foundation.

  • 55TH RSL NATIONAL BOWLS CARNIVAL

    The 55th National RSL Bowls Carnival will be held at Marion Bowling Club, Adelaide, South Australia.

  • RSL REMEMBRANCE RIDE - NOV 2023

    Due to popular demand, the Remembrance Ride was back again in November taking on 435kms of the High Monaro.

  • City2Surf - 14km Fun Run/Walk

    Well done to the team of over 100 veterans and their families who competed with the RSL NSW Sport & Recreation team at City2Surf in Sydney on 13 August 2023.

    RSL Remembrance Ride 2023

    In May 2023, the RSL Remembrance Ride team of veteran riders completed a 430km ride of the Central West Cycle (CWC) Trail in NSW.

  • Kirra Longboard Klassic 2023

    RSL Active proudly sponsored the Kirra Longboard Klassic again in 2023. This family-friendly longboard event was designed to bring like-minded people together for a fun day of surfing. RSL Active was the major sponsor of the ADF division, enabling contestants to compete free of charge.

  • RSL Remembrance Ride 2022

    In May 2022, the RSL Remembrance Ride team successfully completed a 920km ride across the iconic Mawson Trail in South Australia.

  • Kirra Longboard Klassic 2022
