How you can help

donate TO the RSL Foundation

This trust has DGR Status

Donations to the RSL Foundation allow RSL Australia to conduct welfare and other activities in the public interest for the benefit of returned and services personnel. Recently, the main focus of the RSL Foundation was providing support in the form of relief grants for veterans affected by natural disasters. Please donate to help us support our past and present servicemen and women and their families – no gift is too small to make a difference.

DONATe TO create care packages for deployed personnel

This trust has DGR Status

Twice a year, the RSL packs and delivers care packages to Australian Defence Force and Australian Federal Police personnel deployed overseas to show how much we appreciate their work and their sacrifice.

Creating these care packages is an enormous undertaking, made possible only by donations to the fund, donations of goods by corporations, and the volunteers who pack the care packages at the 39 OSB Randwick Barracks in Sydney.

Leave a gift in your will

RSL Australia relies heavily on the community's generosity to support vital programs and services for veterans and their families. Leaving a gift in your Will to RSL Australia allows us to continue to support the veteran community long into the future.

RSL Australia has teamed up with Safewill, Australia’s leading online will-writing platform, enabling you to create a personalised Will in less than 20 minutes for just $80. (normally $160)

After you’ve taken care of your family and friends, we would be grateful if you would consider leaving a charitable gift to RSL Australia. Doing so will ensure that the legacy you leave behind is compassionate, meaningful and aligned with the values you carried through life. Any gift, big or small, in your Will, can make a difference.

Every Will submitted is reviewed by their affiliate law firm, Safewill Legal, to ensure they have been filled out correctly. Safewill allows users to edit and resubmit their Will (with a review from Safewill Legal to ensure correct completion) as often as they like for one year, absolutely free. Thereafter, you can continue to make unlimited updates with a Safewill Legal review each time, for just $15/year. This subscription is entirely optional and you can opt out any time.

With Safewill, you can write your valid/legal Will online in just a few clicks, however, if you would prefer to be guided through the process of completing your Will, Safewill's friendly customer care team is available to help you through every step. They are available 7 days a week, on 1800 10 33 10.

ANZAC Appeal

Your donation to the ANZAC Appeal helps greatly and allows us to continue to support veterans throughout the year. It allows the RSL to tailor specialist services to the needs of our current and former service men and women, and their families. Support may include crisis accommodation for at risk veterans, financial assistance for families in need, health and wellbeing programs, employment support and assistance with accessing pension entitlements. The RSL collects donations for the ANZAC Appeal all year long. 100% of funds raised through the ANZAC Appeal support veterans and their families in times of need.

Poppy Appeal

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marks the moment the guns fell silent on the Western Front after the bloodshed of World War I. Over the past century, this moment has been adopted across the globe as a time to remember those who served and sacrificed in all wars and conflicts. In 1921, the Returned Soldiers and Sailors Imperial League – the forerunner to today’s RSL – sold its first poppies for Armistice Day, importing silk flowers from France and selling them for a shilling.  A century later, the poppy has become the enduring symbol of the human cost of war. Donate, purchase a poppy from a volunteer or plant a digital poppy and leave a special message.

OTHER WAYS TO HELP

  • BECOME A WELFARE ADVOCATE

Navigating the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) claims process can be confusing and stressful. The RSL's advocates guide veterans through the process and fight for the best possible outcome. Advocates are recruited from within the RSL State and Sub-Branch networks, and this involves undertaking specialist training through the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Please contact your RSL State Branch if you are interested in becoming an advocate.

  • VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

Volunteers form the backbone of the RSL. They are an integral component in enabling us to provide the best possible support and services to all generations of Veterans. There are many activities throughout the year that you can get involved in as a volunteer. Contact your local RSL State Branch to see how you can help.

  • SIGN UP FOR RSL MONEY
