RSL Tasmania receives funding for Veteran Hub

MEDIA RELEASE

Issued by: RSL Tasmania

Over the last 12 months, RSL Tasmania has engaged with the Australian Commonwealth Government regarding Tasmania's application for the Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs funding, submitting the final business case in March 2023.

I am delighted to announce that RSL Tasmania has been notified that our business case was successful. We can now commence the implementation of VeteranHub across the whole state. This is an exciting time, and the first of its kind in Australia to deliver services statewide under this initiative.

VeteranHub will be a phased statewide roll out of our hub and spoke service model over three years. The first phase will include hiring staff and development of administrative infrastructure, the second phase will involve registration of Veterans and their Families, and the third phase will include constructing new purpose-built facilities. From today, we encourage businesses, charities, primary health services and government organisations to register their services via www.veteranhub.org.au

VeteranHub will allow Veterans and their families to visit this one-stop shop of services, ensuring they receive the right support, either remotely or in person. These locations will be Devonport, George Town, Hobart, Huonville, Launceston, Swansea, Queenstown, and Wynyard. VeteranHub will collaborate with ex-service and other organisations statewide to ensure clients can access appropriate services within their local areas or regions. Upon completion of phase three, 90% of Veterans or their families will be within a 50km radius of a VeteranHub location.

Once fully operational, Veterans and/or family members can connect with a VeteranHub navigator who will guide them through obtaining services, treatments and supports to enhance their quality of life. This service will be coordinated through a Business Process Management System to ensure that Veterans and their families get the required service. The system will manage all aspects of VeteranHub, either virtually or physically, navigators will work closely with all Veterans, families, and service providers.

VeteranHub looks forward to working with all parties to put Veterans and their families first.

"Let's make Tasmania a place where Veterans and their Families can thrive."
