Once in a Lifetime opportunity - Anzac Day 2025

In 2025, Australia will commemorate a major milestone, the 110th anniversary of Anzac Day – and coinciding with this, is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has advised that applications are open for veterans and families to volunteer with the department in the delivery of these Anzac Day services in France and Türkiye in 2025.

Places are naturally limited; 6 veterans and 2 veteran family members will be selected to travel with the commemorative delivery team in the weeks before Anzac Day – and will be given specific roles to support the delivery of the services. Roles conducted by veterans and veteran family members could include giving a speech, supporting attendees at the events and helping to support Australian and international media covering the events.

The successful applicants will have all travel and accommodation paid for and be trained by DVA’s Commemorative Events team on their specific role.

This initiative is an Australian first and reflects the DVA’s desire to increase engagement with the veteran community in our activities. Veterans and family members of veterans are encouraged to apply for this extraordinary chance to attend and be involved in the Anzac Day commemorative services in Türkiye and France next year.

Applications close at 11:59pm Friday, 4 October 2024.
