ANZAC BISCUIT TINS - 2022 LIMITED EDITION

In the long-lasting tradition of ANZAC Day, many choose to bake, buy and share ANZAC biscuits as part of the commemorations. This is a sweet biscuit made of oats, flour, coconut, butter, sugar and golden syrup.

Each year RSL creates special limited edition ANZAC biscuit tins, with unique designs that are made available in several of the of major supermarkets.  RSL supporters collect the tins and some of the profit is donated back to the RSL to fund our work supporting the wellbeing of veterans and their families.

This year there are seven different tin designs to collect. Different designs are exclusive to different supermarkets, so here’s the scoop on where you can find them.

AVAILABLE AT ALDI

There are two limited edition ANZAC Biscuit tins that will be available in all Aldi stores leading up to ANZAC Day.

The first design features artwork by Cory Rinaldi, the President of the Cronulla RSL sub-Branch. You can read Cory’s story on the back of the tin.  Cory is the current Artist in Residence at the ANZAC Memorial in Sydney and is set to launch an exhibition at the ANZAC Memorial commencing on April 22nd.

The second design features the story of the famous battlefield football team The Mudlarks. The Mudlarks were the forerunner to strong and sustained partnerships between the RSL, the Australian Defence Force and the various football codes across Australia, a strong part of our national identity.

AVAILABLE AT COLES

Not all Coles stores stock the limited edition ANZAC Biscuit tins, so call ahead if you’re heading out specifically to buy one. These tins feature contemporary photos to celebrate and honour those currently in active service in the Australian Army, Navy and Airforce.

The theme on the blue tin is about ANZAC Day Observance and Commemoration in modern Australia and its relevance in our society. On the back of the tin you’ll find the words of The Ode and information about  ANZAC Day and the importance of continuing to observe, commemorate and to never forget.

The theme of the black tin is recognition of those currently serving.  The photos on this tin depict "Exercise Talisman Sabre (TS21)" which took place near King's Beach in Bowen, Queensland in 2021. TS21 is the largest bilateral training activity between Australia and the United States. Approximately 17,000 military personnel from seven nations participate on land, air and sea during TS21 including Australia, United States, Canada, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. On the front of the tin you can see a photo of the United States Marines from the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. The back of the tin shows a British Royal Marine. Talisman Sabre reflects the closeness of our alliance and strength of our enduring military relationships.

AVAILABLE AT WOOLWORTHS

There are three different tin designs available at Woolworths, however, not all Woolworths stores stock the limited edition ANZAC Biscuit tins. Artwork on these tins feature photos from WW1 of the Australian Navy, Army, and Air Force honouring and celebrating the three key sectors of our Defence Force.

Thank you to everyone who purchases a limited edition ANZAC Biscuit tin. Your donation is helping us to continue to support veterans, as we have done for over one hundred years.
