THE RSL VETERANS’ EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM 2021-2024
The RSL Veterans’ Employment Program was established in late 2021 to provide free career services to Veterans and partners and children of current or former Defence members. Since its inception, the program has proudly supported hundreds of Veterans and Defence family members in their pursuit to find more meaningful work.
The program was enabled through funding from the Australian Government which recognised the significant reach and connectivity the RSL has within the Defence and Veteran community.
From June 2024 this national-led program will no longer be taking new registrations.
However, the RSL is still able to support those seeking employment support through independent programs operated by some of the RSL State Branches. We also have a variety of useful articles and guides to assist you in getting started. Refer to Resources for Job-Hunters below.
What’s next for participants in the
RSL Veterans’ Employment Program?
RSL Australia remains committed to ensuring Veterans and Defence family members are supported on their journey to finding a rewarding career. All those registered with the national program before June 2024, can continue receiving professional career coaching and access to online training resources for the remainder of 2024. These services will be delivered through our expert career coaching partner, Right Management.
Those registered in the program will be contacted by email/or phone to confirm your interest in receiving continued career support through Right Management’s coaches.
FIND CAREER SUPPORT
As the national-led RSL Veterans’ Employment Program winds down, we are still able to support Veterans and family members of Defence (current and former) through established Employment Programs offered through our State Branches.
These programs are tailored to your needs and free of charge.
QUEENSLAND, TASMANIA, NEW SOUTH WALES
Delivered by RSL Queensland (and RSL Lifecare in NSW), this established Employment Program is available nationally. The program is tailored to help ex-serving Defence members and the partners of current or ex-serving Defence members find meaningful employment.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
RSL WA works in partnership with Working Spirit to offer personalised, free employment services to members of the ADF, partners of veterans, as well as their working-age children.
VICTORIA
Offered by the Victorian Government, this program assists veterans secure employment opportunities within the Victorian Public Sector. Register to receive job opportunities, invites to employment events and seminars in the Victorian public sector.

In June 2024 the grant for the national program (2021-2024) ended. However, some RSL State Branches continue to offer Employment Programs independently. Check if your State has a program under the “Find Support” section. Alternatively, the RSL Queensland Employment Program welcomes clients from across Australia.

Right Management is a professional career coaching agency with 40+ years of experience. RSL Australia has partnered with Right Management to continue working closely with all our active program clients for the remainder of 2024. In addition to professional coaching and access to web-based resources, Right Management offers lifelong Alumni support and ongoing access to its career management resources.

Data will be held following RSL Australia’s privacy policy and will not be used for purposes other than for the delivery of the RSL Veterans’ Employment Program services.
